US director for Betfair, Lorcan Kelly, said in response to the announcement that the agreement will allow the campaign to fulfil their strategic expansion goals. They will be able to greatly expand their US offerings with the great content that NYX can provide.
Matt Davey , CEO for NYX reiterated these sentiments and noted that this is a milestone moment for NYX. He also stated that NYX’s quality gaming content will offer reliability and choice to US players. He also said that thanks to the OGS platform services, NYX will continue their US expansion.
Legalised online gaming in the US is slowly on the rise with Pennsylvania recently marking themselves as the 4th state to legalise it. States are having a tough time suppressing the push for legal online gambling as state budgets are on the rise. Online gambling revenue promises to create additional funds that could plug holes in local budgets. With states like Pennsylvania having budget holes to plug to the tune of $2.2 billion, it simply does not make sense to block online gambling for the sake of protecting land based casinos.
